Sammy was still in awe of the house and had already taken enough pictures to make up an album and sent them to Cole who instantly concurred that the house was beautiful. She was making an attempt to get past the funny feeling in her tummy in order to unpack when a voice startled her from behind.

“What would you want for dinner Miss Stone?” Maggie asked behind her and she jumped a little, completely oblivious to the other woman’s presence.

“I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you.” Maggie said apologetically.

“It’s okay. I’ll have anything you cook.” She replied smiling and Maggie nodded before leaving.

“Wait.” She called out and Maggie turned to look at her.

“The car, I’m guessing it was dropped off today; did they give you the key also?” She asked.

“Yes, it must have slipped my mind. I dropped it on the dresser in your room.” She replied and Samantha nodded her thanks before Maggie turned and made her way downstairs.

Sammy grabbed the key and Kate’s letter before heading downstairs too.

“I’ll be back soon.” She shouted on her way out.

Getting into the car, she setup the gprs and inputed the address into the system and drove out following the direction.

The house was in Pat Mell road Marietta, Edinborough and she realized that it was a really nice neighborhood. It looked homely and peaceful, each house surrounded with gardens of flowers and a walk path leading up to the doors.

She soon pulled up in front of Kate’s house and felt a shiver run down her spine, her palms suddenly clammy with sweat and her heart thudding in her chest.

Samantha sat there for some time. Not because she was terribly interested in the architecture or the scenery, as compelling as it was but because a part of her knew that if she continued down this road, she wouldn’t turn back. She soon realized with alarm that she wasn’t ready for this; at least not today.

She had never been a coward but right now she couldn’t do this so she managed to put the car in gear, turned and left the street driving back to her house without looking back.

A week had already gone by and she still haven’t been able to meet Kate. She’d driven up to the house again countless times but she never manages to leave her car. She always hopes to catch a glimpse of the woman that was supposedly her mother but never does. She had seen a couple of people go into the house and leave but never felt that sudden pang of familiarization that she supposed was meant to wash over her when she finally set eyes on Kate.

Sighing as she stepped out of her bath tub she wrapped the towel around her and dried off whilst thinking of how to summon the courage for the reason she was here.

The temperature was as high as 60 degrees which always made her wonder how people preferred the hot climate to cold as she dressed up in a Zimmerman orange maxi gown and a black flats. She brushed her hair and left it to cascade over her shoulders then applied mild makeup.

As she stepped out of her room she heard voices drifting up from downstairs and paused. She always wondered if that was Maggie’s husband because she’d heard this same voice twice before. She had always left them alone out of respect for the older woman but today for some reason her curiousity got the best of her.

“Maggie.” She called out as she made her way downstairs so as to avoid any uncomfortable surprises.

“In the kitchen.” Came the reply.

She walked into the kitchen and saw the source of the voice leaning slightly against the wall facing Maggie who was equally looking at him and smiling.

He looked lean and fit from behind, his chestnut hair trim and curled a bit in the middle, his hands were inside his pocket and his feet were crossed at the ankle. She hadn’t seen him fully but it was already obvious that he was extremely sexy.

“Did I just call Maggie’s husband sexy? Oh My God, I need to get laid.” She thought as a light blush stained her cheeks.

“Hello.” She finally said and Maggie turned towards her.

“Samantha, I didn’t hear you come in.” She said.

“Of course you didn’t, I wouldn’t either if I had him talking to me.” She thought to herself.

“It’s okay Maggie, I see you have a guest. I should be going then.” She said and was about to turn and leave when Maggie stopped her.

“Don’t be silly, you don’t have to leave. Please sit, I baked some chocolate brownies and I’m sure you’ll like them. Lest I forget, Samantha I’d like you to meet my nephew Alexander.” She said pointing towards the man who had finally turned and looked at her with the clearest blue eyes she’d ever seen.

She’d thought he was sexy? He is drop dead gorgeous and dangerously handsome, plus sexy too.

His piercing eyes, chiseled cheek bones, thin lips and straight nose seemed to all come together to create a beautiful face. She could definitely eat him up instead of the brownies. She could swear that the fave looked strangely familiar but she just couldn’t place it.

Xander has always known that Samantha Stone was beautiful. He’d seen her in some Hollywood parties, galas and charity events but being this close to her; he was breath taken.

Her long mane of black hair cascaded past her shoulders almost reaching her elbows. Her brown eyes reminded him of a lioness with the intensity of her stare, her lips; thin but full enough and begging to be kissed. Her cheekbones were pronounced and her button of a nose laid majestically on her face.

He’d never really given her a thought until now, in her kitchen without all the chaos that comes with Hollywood; here they were just two individuals and here he just realized that he wanted her.

“Ahem ahem.” Maggie made a coughing sound and they both stopped their staring contest while Sammy’s face flames up, probably embarrassed with the whole situation.

Xander thought it was cute that she blushed that easily and was already thinking of a whole lot of things to do to make her blush even more.

“Alexander Tramell.” He said extending a hand to her.

“Samantha Stone.” She replied shaking the hand he offered and soon sparks of electricity shot throughout her body making her heart this quickly against her chest but she ignored it and managed to keep a straight face smiling up at him.

He smiled back and quietly released her hand before turning back to Maggie.

“I have to be on my way now, I have a meeting in a bit. I’ll see you later aunt.” He said and kissed her cheek.

“Not so fast, atleast take the lunch I packed for you because I don’t know when you’d eat other wise.” Maggie replied sternly showing that she won’t take no for an answer. Sighing he stretched out his hand and picked it up.

“Even though I’m not in your house anymore, you are still forcing me to eat.” He groaned and Maggie waved to off with her hand.

“Be careful with this one Samantha, she’ll fill you up with food if you let her.” He said with a wink and she felt her heart flip.

“I’ll keep that in mind. Please call me Sammy.” She replied and suddenly wondered why she had told him to call her by that name. Only her dad and her best friends called her Sammy.

“I think you are the one I have to be careful around.” She thought to herself.

“Sammy, it was nice meeting you.” He said then picked up her hand and kissed it before walking out of the kitchen just as her cheeks heated up at his touch.

“I hope he didn’t bother you.” Maggie asked. If she had noticed her blushing, the older woman said nothing about it.

“No, I’m fine. You both seem close.” She said in a bid to steer the conversation in a different direction.

“Yes we are. Growing up he had some problems coming to terms with his parents always being busy and traveling. My sister and her husband were always gone on business trips and he felt neglected. He needed their love and attention and when he wasn’t getting it, he made some bad choices and when his parents found out they sent him to me to help them out. He was 16yeras then and he stayed with me till he graduated from college. He schooled at Harvard but he always came home to me afterwards. Now he is all grown and managing his fathers company, I’m very proud of him.” Maggie said with a look of adoration and love on her face.

“Wow! No wonder he clearly adores you. You kind of saved him from himself; what about his parents?.”

“Retired and doing everything they ever wanted to do before they got very busy with work.” She replied and Samantha nodded.

“What are you really doing in Atlanta Samantha?” Maggie asked quietly and she paused mid way to putting a brownie into her mouth. Sighing she put the fork down and sighed.

She had no idea what to tell Maggie and she didn’t want to lie to the woman considering she just shared something very personal about her life and that of his nephew’s. She decided to tell her the truth and realized that it felt right to her to share this with Maggie.

“Please call me Sammy.” She said and Maggie nodded.

“So Sammy, what’s your story?” She asked again.

“I just needed a break from everything I guess. I needed to slow down a bit, I never had a chance to do that after my father died.” She said and Maggie squeezed her hand in consolation.

“Also, my birth mother is here.” She added quietly.

“Oh!” Exclaimed Maggie and she nodded.

“She was actually the one that invited me here to see me after all these years. That’s actually the main reason I’m here but for some reason I just can’t bring myself to actually meet her.” She added softly.

“Do you really want to see her?” Maggie asked and she nodded.

“Then don’t over think it. Just get in your car, drive to her house, walk up to the house and knock on the dire. Don’t even take a minute to think about it, just do it.”

Samantha thought about it for a minute then suddenly nodded, smiled and stood up from her seat.

“You’re right, I’ve been thinking about this too much and unconsciously discouraging myself. Thanks Maggie.” She giggled and embraced her before leaving the kitchen.

She ran upstairs to her room, grabbed her phone, car keys and bag before running downstairs again. She got into her car and drove off without the gprs; she didn’t need it anymore, she was already very familiar with the neighborhood.

On getting there she got out of her car and walked through the pathway leading up to the house.

When she got to the door though, she suddenly didn’t feel so confident anymore and was debating on if she should knock or turn back around and leave just as the door suddenly flew open.

“Samantha.” The woman said and as she looked at her face more closely she knew instantly that it was Kate; her mother.

They had the same long black hair, the same cheekbones and she also had brown eyes like her and her dad. They stood at almost the same height but Kate was slightly taller and they both had the same body type.

Samantha was speechless and couldn’t move even a muscle. She had been Sirius to know what her mother looked like but seeing her here in the flesh, seeing that they looked almost identical was to much for her.

“Please come in.” Kate said stepping out of the way for her to walk into the house.

She walked past her into the house and waited for Kate to close the door then lead her to the sitting room. Kate gestured for her to sit down and as they sat down there observing each other, neither of them uttered a word to each other.

“I’m surprised to see you here; I didn’t think you’d come considering the circumstances.” Kate said finally breaking the silence.

“I guess I was curious enough to see the woman who gave birth to me to actually come.” Samantha replied dryly and don’t notice Kate flinch at that.

So we’ve finally met Kate and we also met an interesting character Alexander.

What do you think about the two of them??

Sorry for the late update though, final year ain’t easy.. Hehehehe!!!!
