Life As We Know It #2

“I swear Helen, he is so nice” said Sarah

“Well, he is so cute. I’d have gotten him for myself if you didn’t” Helen replied laughing. Sarah giggled.

The rest of the month went quickly for Sarah as school work became more tedious but she always had Brad to talk to at the end of the day and even hang out when they were less busy. They were just really good friends and she liked him especially the fact that he never tried to pressure her into anything.

It was soon the end of October and time for the annual Mausoleum Halloween Hunt/Party. She went with Brad and they were dressed up as King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. Helen came with a friend of hers, Jesse and they were both dressed as Thor and Princess Xena.

The party was fun and she loved every bit of it. During the hunt the four of them teamed up against other teams and they finished in second place. Around 2.am she told Brad she was tired and wanted to leave. He drove her back to the house then walked her to the door.

“I had so much fun tonight Brad. Thanks”.

As was normal for them she stepped closer and hugged him. He hugged her back then kissed her cheek.

“I had fun too. Good night Sarah”.

She stepped into the house and leaned against the door touching the spot where he kissed her cheek. He never kissed her before, and she loved it. She admired him for not putting pressure on her but she just realized she wanted more of his kisses.

He didn’t plan to kiss her, it just happened. He never lost control like that but when she leaned in and hugged him and her scent taunted him there was nothing more he could do. It’s a surprise he didn’t kiss her full on the lips. He really liked her but didn’t want to mess things up. He was content being where he was.

Randy had noticed their friendship. He and Brad were in the same frat dorm so he couldn’t really keep professing his love to her; the whole loyalty pledge. Not like he had a chance otherwise. But God help him if Brad hurts Sarah. Why couldn’t he just like someone else? What was it about her? Hell, if he knew.

December arrived too soon and it was soon time for Christmas break. Decorations were hung everywhere and Christmas songs seemed to always blast from somewhere.

It was remaining just a few more days before school closed for the holidays. Everyone was anxious to be home but still felt a little sad about leaving their friends behind.

A day before the vacation was the annual Christmas carnival. Sarah, Brad, Helen and Jesse all went together. Everyone was dancing, drinking or eating; all in the Christmas spirit. They soon got caught up in it and were soon dancing. Brad went to get more drinks and Sarah kept dancing. Soon she saw Randy approaching her but she was too happy to despise him.

“Hi Sarah, merry Christmas”.

“Merry Christmas Randy”.

“Will you please dance with me? Just once”

“Sure” She didn’t know why she agreed easily but then again, she wasn’t really seeing him as the annoying and scrawny kid anymore. She was beginning to see him as a person, a nice one at that. So far he’d manage to stay out of her way, what harm would a dance cause?

He couldn’t believe she was dancing with him. It was like a dream, yet it felt so real. She felt every bit as he’d imagined her to feel, so soft. Her skin was like velvet on his palms.

“Hey Randy, mind if I cut in?” he heard Brad say behind him. He would have damned him if he didn’t know the repercussions. Why did all students of a major even have to stay together as a frat? He pulled away from her sadly but managed to keep a smile in place.

“Sure” he said smiling. Turning towards Sarah he thanked her for the dance and left. Sarah had enjoyed being held by Randy and it left her flustered and confused.

“You okay?” Brad asked

“Yes. I just need a little fresh air”

They danced a little bit more and then he took her for a walk.

“I’ll miss you Brad. I just really wish your parents stay in Los Angeles too”.

“I’ll miss you too, but look at the bright side; it’s just 2weeks and I’d see you again, plus I will call everyday till I bore you” he stroked her cheek absentmindedly.
She wore her hair down today, he’d always wondered how it would feel on his fingers; giving in to the urge he stroked her hair.

“I don’t think I’d ever get bored” she replied and hoped her voice didn’t sound as weak as she felt. His light touches were slowly weakening her legs. She didn’t think she could take it anymore.

“Kiss me Brad”.

That was all the invitation he needed. He slowly bent his lips to hers, and kissed her lightly, softly. Although the desire he felt within him threatened to erupt, he willed it to calm down knowing he had to taste and remember exactly what she tasted like.

She had been kissed before but she’d never felt like this, it was as if every part of her came alive, parts she never even knew existed. A soft moan escaped her lips as she wrapped her hands around him running her fingers through his hair even as he did the same. She pressed herself into him giving even more than he asked.

He realized she fit perfectly into him and that if he didn’t end this right now, he wouldn’t be able to stop later. With all the strength in him, he broke the kiss; then brushed his lips against hers lightly, kissed her forehead and held on to her even as she held on to him seeking to regain their breath and balance.

After a few minutes, they walked back to the carnival and found Helen. Brad excused himself and said he’d soon be back.

He needed to clear his head before he could stand next to her again. he snagged a bottle of beer and walked around to relieve himself a bit.

Sarah still hadn’t recovered from the kiss and she was grateful Helen was busy necking with Jesse to notice. Brad soon came back and after a while they decided to leave.

He walked her to the door as usual then kissed her again.

“Goodnight baby” he said and turned to leave.

She caught his arm and he turned to look at her.

“Stay with me Brad. Polly is staying out tonight and I don’t want to be alone. It’s also our last day in school and I want to spend every bit of it with you” she stepped closer and touched his cheek then leaned in and kissed him.

Did he have any choice? Not really.

They talked most of the night, necked a bit then slept off with Sarah wrapped in his arms. It was 8.am when he woke up. He smoothed her hair from her face and kissed her forehead. He eased himself out of the bed and got dressed. He dropped a note for her then left.

She woke up around 10.am and when she didn’t see Brad she almost panicked. Then she saw his note and smiled. She had her bath and got ready. Brad’s flight was by 12 noon. She’d take him to the airport then drive home with Helen. She called Helen to make sure she was up. It was 11.30 when they left school. They soon got to the airport and she stepped out of the car to walk Brad in.

“Good bye Brad, see you next year” Helen called out from the car. He turned smiling and waved at her.

When they got inside she hugged him and kissed him.

“Drive safe babe. Call you as soon as I get home” he said then leaned in and kissed her again.

“Okay. I will miss you so much Brad, bye” she hugged him again then turned and walked out.

She walked back to the car and they left for Los Angeles. The ride back with Helen was fun and she almost even forgot about Brad.
